FREDAG: Beneath the winter snow

This week I had a few nice outfits. Unfortunately, I have no proof. The only thing I have proof of is my attempt at victory rolls. They didn't turn out like they should have. I am growing my hair. I look like the  First Lady, or Secretary of State or Prime Minister. I don't think I suit red lipstick. I wear it anyway. I finished watching 30 Rock. Life may or may not go on, that is until I find another TV series to plough through. I dare you to pity me. I will not accept your pity.

These photos do not accurately depict the amount of work that went into sculpting my hair into a resemblance of victory rolls.
I may be having a stroke, each word I typed in the previous sentence had a typing error.
Better sooner than later.

Coming live to you from her bedroom floor,

Good night,

A

ONSDAG: It's all about her soul and her forks in the road

Here are the general feels for the past week:

Also, exciting news: I HAVE COMPLETED THE BACK OF A JUMPER USING MELODEE'S PATTERN. Unfortunately knitting is at a standstill because I am almost out of wool. This is probably the highlight of my week.

Until next time, piglets.

SÖNDAG: No, but there's karma, Kramer

I LOVE YOU KRAMER, PLEASE LET ME BE YOU!!

Here is a stylish picture taken by Allison (I am the one wearing the floral tights. They were given to me by her because she is kind.) of me and some fine friends sitting in a tree. Remember Kira? You can see part of her face in it.

This is my shoe. The zip broke so I stitched it up and now I just use the rainbow laces to get it on/off.

I went pretty well crazy this weekend and wrote everywhere:
First here.

Then here.

This is a drawing I did AGES ago.

And this is what I did to it yesterday.
I thought that that would be it, but then I did this:

Prepare yourselves now for the best song in the world.
I  also like this one.
Have the fun xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoox

FREDAG: I'm permanently black and blue, permanently blue for you

I woke up at 12 this afternoon. I got up and brushed my teeth, washed my face, got dressed, ate the rest of the caramel icing left over from a half-eaten cupcake last night, had lunch and spent the rest of the day like this and watching 30 Rock

Some 30 Rock love:

For a moment I felt like I didn't care enough to continue with the post but here goes nothing:

Note the double floral crown

My hair is fabulous, I will wear it like this more often.

My nails are watermelons, they are also fabulous. I have decided I will paint my nails like fruit more often.

I also bought a whole box full of 60s and 70s sewing patterns. I was going to do a post about that, but I couldn't be bothered getting out of bed.

Resolutions:

- Bake baked goods once a week
- Cook for my family every two weeks
- Sew one article of clothing every two weeks

A song.

Let's hope I see this through but for now, excuse me while I watch more 30 Rock.

Over and out,

A

ONSDAG: Let us go then, you and I

Here is some fun advice that I found in my downloads folder.

Here is a song that I am listening to at the moment that makes me feel adequately nostalgic and grateful for friends and good company. (DISCLAIMER I DON'T LISTEN TO THE LYRICS, so the lyrics in this song may be completely incongruous to the vibes that I get from it. Sorry in advance.)

This has been a good week, piglets.

SÖNDAG: MY PEOPLE WERE FAIR AND HAD SKY IN THEIR HAIR, BUT NOW THEY'RE CONTENT TO WEAR STARS ON THEIR BROWS.

Tout d'abord: HAPPY BIRTHDAY MORGAN!!!! :D :D :D May this post find you ridiculously happy in your celebrations for this momentous occasion!!

WARNING: Today's shall be a long post.

This is me in my tweed cape that you have seen before. Naturally I am at a bus stop. I'm starting to feel as though I live on public transport, especially after Friday when I caught five different buses. I do quite enjoy public transport. Although I did say this on Wednesday and then a couple of creepy drunk guys got on my bus in the middle of the day. Let's hope I haven't jinxed myself again.

Yes, I did make this scarf myself.
Well, and what do you know? I actually have pictures of my dirndl for this week!! This is how I did my hair. Fancy am I.
I wanted to wear my wooden shoes, but they are broken, so evidement I didn't. The shoes you can see here are pretty much the only shoes I wear. I don't really see what makes people so crazy about them.

I've stopped wearing make-up. No particular reason. I just don't feel the need to have it on my face lately.

Alright, I do realise that there are quite a lot of pictures of me for this week. But I figured, since I actually have tolerable pictures for this week I may as well use them. Kind of to compensate for the weeks when I barely had any at all.

Yesterday I watched Water Lilies/Naissance des Pieuvres. This may well be my new favourite film. IT WAS SO FANTASTIC!! The shot near the end of the film when Marie is alone in the changing rooms is particularly emotionally traumatising. Also I think that the story boards for it would make for an excellent graphic novel. BUT WHAT A BEAUTIFULLY MADE FILM!

And Darling won't leave my brain. I have been nostalgically listening to this but that doesn't help WHEN I NEED TO GO AND WRITE MY ESSAY!!

Goodbye for now my dears

FREDAG: Words escape me

1. I really hate it when the toilet seat is up. I really do, if you think about it, people spend a lot more time sitting on a toilet rather than standing at a toilet. For example, let us take a male and female. For the purposes of this experiment, they will go to the toilet twice each. Once being for the purposes of expelling urine, the other for the purposes of defecating. Three out of four times, the person would be sitting. So, please tell me why the toilet seat is always up.

2. I have jumpers that I never wear, like the one I wore with my excellent outfit and face on Thursday. I think I will begin to create outfits based on the jumpers I don't wear. Remind me to be bothered to post about that next week.

2 1/2. My brother knits, and was making good progress with a scarf. It is sad because it is nearly spring and therefore nearly summer and the point of a scarf is pointless.

3. I just finished a new tube of Mentos. I bought them approximately half an hour ago.

4. I am Melodee's personal assistant. This is what my Personal Assistant Attire looks like.

4 1/2. Congratulations to Melodee for this fancy photo. I will endeavour to take more photos of you, Melodious Melodee.

5. I've been playing Freeplay Sims a lot recently. At home, at university and nowhere else, because I don't have internet unless its free. I can do this cool thing, where I shake the iPad and it makes my Sim throw up.

6. I'm beginning to eat the non-licorice licorice. I don't know if my stomach likes me anymore.

6 1/2. I liked this outfit too, I don't remember it. But I should re-create it for you.

7. Kids, don't drink and text. Just don't.

8. The other day, I was sitting cross-legged on a bench at the train station and it was getting late. Pins and needles struck me with paralysis. I considered uncrossing my legs, but I was too lazy. Then I thought it would be really easy for someone to attack me because I would be paralyzed and I wouldn't be able to run. So I uncrossed my legs.

9. I like that I am little cross-eyed.

10. They remind me of Noah and the Whale. At the start at least.

10 1/2. Herp Derp (I actually have no idea what that means still) (Seemed appropriate)

11. I wish I cared more.

Till Next Week,

A

ONSDAG: Spring offensive

1. My dear old friend, Number Points, will come in useful this week. Another week has passed and another load of nothing has happened. I have been wearing one pair of pants for the majority of the week, mostly because I felt ultra-productive and mechanic-like in these navy chinos. (Pants like these should come with a disclaimer: there is no guarantee of actually doing work while wearing productive-feeling pants).

2. Here are some pictures of beach houses in Miami. These are my favourite of the set.

3. Here is how I want to feel in spring. I want to roll around in the grass in flowy dresses rather than study political theory.

4. I am hoping that you all enjoy the remainder of your week. I am not sure why this is a thing that people say, considering it would be much nicer if I expressed hope that you would enjoy the rest of the month, or the year, or your lives.

SÖNDAG: I'm alone on a bicycle for two

WHAT a week, hey? It just went on FOREVER, and thankfully I have no pictures of myself from this week (you may find a series of excuses below) to evidence its existence. I found myself listening to this song to remind myself that happiness is not a thing of fiction. Also, another helpful song for that kind of mood is this song about being alone on a bicycle for two. SPEAKING of bicycles, yesterday on an adventure with ALLISUNSHINE*, we saw a woman retrieving her bicycle wheel from a cloak room. Why just ONE lone bicycle wheel? It was greatly amusing. Oh, people.
Anyhoo, here are my excuses:
1. Had anyone wanted to, I would not have let them take my picture
2. No one wanted to anyway
3. Yesterday I was stylish but I was wearing my backless dress which you have already seen twice. Why do I insist on wearing it so much? Well, other than it being generally excellent, it is also good for when I am really indecisive about outfitting. This is because it is many things at once, such as both short AND long.
Also I have SO MANY things to do for university which is secretly really exciting. I'm surprising myself by actually doing work.
*WHY DID I NOT THINK OF THIS SOONER?
Since I'm supposed to be documenting things I wear in these posts, here is an outfit I wore once. I wore this for the birthday celebrations for Allisunshine. It was the last time I wore the kitten heels that you can't see. I mean to sequinify them one day...
ALSO ALSO ALSO!!! You remember how I said I've been busy with uni? WELL, I have been going back to my old form of procrastination: FOOD! And I DON'T mean gorging myself on chocolate!! Nope, I've been making myself good things such as this which I made as one big one, and plan on making again only using lentils and chickpeas. I also made these this morning, and I'm down to the last one! Don't worry, I didn't eat them all myself. OR DID I?
And to finish, here is a fine song to carry you through the week.

FREDAG: Its mystery, its greatness, the amazing reality of its concealed life

Ah, Conrad, how eloquently you put into words, the utter despair and enigma of life. In a similar vein of thought, the lovely Melodee exclaimed, "Nothing good can come from this week." I agree with her. Nothing good has come of this week and nothing will because it is done.

However my little piglets, the week is done, usher in the weekend with haste and joy because the weight upon our hearts will never go away, but will be made easier to bear with clenched smiles and  disparaging laughter.

So that wasn't quite the way I wanted the 'sunny-side up' of my message to turn out but you know what they say from the fullness of the heart...

In any case, I leave you with an impressionistic outlook of my ushering in of the weekend:

This is me beginning the day with a healthy slice of toast lathered in butter and nothing else. For the only jam left in our house is this feijoa and ginger jam which tastes nothing at all like feijoa and ginger but rather soap and ginger. Woe is me and calamity upon us all.
If you do not know what a feijoa is, Wikipedia can certainly help with that.

This is my face, post-toast, with a relatively tidier room and face but a rather untidy hallway. (I refuse to be responsible for the messes I do not make)

Me being coy from behind the Heart of Darkness. This was the first book from off my bookshelf as I begin to read all the books on my bookshelf again or for the first time. Note my parted fringe. I enjoy it this way.

I apologize for the lack of outfits, as I had a few rather excellent winners this week much like this song which I am listening to on repeat. Do not judge. (I feel your judgement) (Fine, I do not care)

Alright little piglings (piglets/underlings), this is me for today leaving you with a rather enigmatic and cumbersome and dreaded question that we all face in the foreseeable future:

What shall I wear tomorrow?
#firstworldproblems
#well,itwouldn'tbethirdworldbecauseIdon'tlivethere
#arrogance
#comedicpurposesonly

Goodnight Melbourne  New York,
(New York just has more of a ring to it)

In any case,

Over and out,
This Little Pig.

ONSDAG: Dry brain in a dry season

I do not have much to say today. Things have been a bit strange and I have been a bit belatedly perturbed by the changes the start of semester has brought. Everything will probably settle down in a while, but for now, here is a photo of me, wearing pants. Lately I have found myself unable to function properly without an article of clothing which is black and/or pants. Perhaps a change of season will bring me more inspiration.

For now, there is this, which I enjoy playing on a lot. (That, and Temple Run.) Also, there is this. (NOTE: THIS WILL TAKE TEN BILLION YEARS TO LOAD. I SAY IT'S WORTH IT. While you wait, go and aimlessly browse ebay for useless stuff you probably don't need. Better yet, play Temple Run.)
